We've Accomplished So Much Together.

Our work in Olympia is far from over. We’ve got a constant battle to protect the people of our district from runaway spending and empty promises. Your support is appreciated and helps us reach more voters with news of our successes. Please consider a contribution today.

IN OLYMPIA, I WILL CONTINUE TO FOCUS ON:

Reducing Your Tax Burden

I am actively fighting to lowering your tax burden while maintaining the fiscal health of our State. The State of Washington collected and spent more than 2.3 billion dollars in excess tax revenue during the last budget cycle. More of the same is expected during the next two years. This is your money, and is above and beyond what the State has budgeted for. I have been fighting to return it to you, and prevent even more from being taken. Here are a few of the bills that I have authored:

  • Property tax relief for taxes collected in 2018 (HB 3000)
  • Prohibiting local governments from implementing an income tax (HB 2212)
  • Lowering the B&O tax rate to encourage manufacturing (HB 2393)

In 2019, I will introduce legislation to provide you with a property tax rebate when the State collects excess revenue.

Transportation Solutions

A comprehensive and efficient transportation system is key to the health and viability of our community. We must achieve this without Oregon’s unfair tolling scheme. I will continue to fight for transportation solutions that ease congestion, rather than satisfy political special interests. I have been working hard with a bi-partisan group of SW Washington legislators to achieve these goals, and will continue to do so for the betterment of Clark County.

Mental Health Treatment

As your State Representative, I have heard from many of our friends and neighbors about the shortcomings in our State’s treatment of those in a mental health crisis. Through a reprioritization of our efforts, we can focus our resources at the proper care and treatment for those in crisis. We can and should do better.
